Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Mexico Hostel while exploring the vibrant heart of Mexico City, I was pleasantly surprised by the blend of comfort and convenience offered at this hidden gem. Nestled near the bustling Zócalo Square, the hostel not only served as a perfect base for cultural excursions but also showcased an inviting atmosphere characterized by helpful staff, particularly Juan Carlos, who was attentive to every detail of my stay. The facilities were well-maintained, with a clean shared bathroom and private bunk beds that provided both privacy and security—a key element for solo travelers like myself. While the shower facilities left something to be desired, the overall cleanliness of the common areas was commendable, ensuring a pleasant environment to unwind after a day of exploration. One major highlight was the rooftop terrace featuring a lively food court, albeit a bit pricey for local standards; however, the variety of dining options was still a great perk. I found the 24-hour front desk and concierge service immensely helpful, especially when planning quick excursions to nearby attractions such as the Museum of Fine Arts. Mexico Hostel offers remarkable value for the price, combining friendly service, excellent location, and essential amenities—though I do wish they would consider adding a free breakfast to round out the experience.
